Drayson Racing Privileged with Second Invitation to Le Mans
Named as one of 21 Le Mans Prototype One (LMP1) entries to its field for 2010 ...
Lord Drayson, Minister for Science and Innovation in the United Kingdom, debuted Drayson Racing in 2009. The team campaigned the No. 87 Aston Martin Vantage GT2 in the Le Mans Series with drivers Paul Drayson and Jonny Cocker on Michelin Tyres. The two British racers also shared the No.007 Vantage GT2 in the American Le Mans Series’ 12 Hours of Sebring where they were joined by fellow Brit Rob Bell.
Marino Franchitti drove as part of the all-UK line-up for the team’s premiere in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Drayson Racing took one step further under the direction of Team Manager Dale White by season’s end entering the LMP1 category with a Lola-Judd in the Petit Le Mans (sharing the prototype ride with Bell) and Monterey Sports Car
Championships before taking it to the inaugural season of the Asian Le Mans Series in Japan.
Drayson Racing continues its longstanding belief that motorsport can be utilised to pursue victories whilst also advancing environmental efficiency and responsibility in motoring.
